About
Construction is not just a job for Michael Lahti — it is a Lahti family tradition, and Michael is a third generation builder. A Portland, Oregon native and graduate of La Salle High School, Michael founded M.E.L. Construction in 1990 after receiving his degree from Santa Clara University. Upon graduating, Michael set out to carry the family business into the 21st century!
Since then, he has built a portfolio which includes custom homes, commercial construction, and land development. All the while he has fostered an upright character, known and respected for his attention to quality of work, integrity in approach, and varied experience in his trade. With over 25 years in the industry, and a father and grandfather in the business before him, Michael has cultivated long-term collaborations. He is a man truly validated by creating the optimal client experience and building relationships.
Away from the job site, Michael is a family man — married, with a 17 year-old son. He loves spending time in the outdoors with his family camping, skiing, and golfing. An active member of his community, Michael has donated his time over the last 20 years working closely with the Rask Family Memorial Fund in fundraising and community outreach programs.
